Diorama map

In maths we have been learning about maps. Here is a map of our diorama.

When you are making a map you may need to include a compass, scale and a key to help people navigate.

Have you ever made a map?

    Hi Ruby,

Excellent work, love how you described the key elements needed in a map so they can be used. Your key was clever! I have made a map – we used one for our Penman Maths Challenge this week! When have you needed to use a map?

Well done Ruby on an excellent and challenging unit of work. I really hope that you have enjoyed it.
I have made plenty of treasure maps myself because I used to hide yummy bakery goods in the street when I was growing up and make maps so people could find the goodies. I used to tell people the number of steps to take. I used to also use landmarks like ‘Thomas’s house’ etc. I definitely didn’t use north, south, east, west when I was a kid.
    Keep up that good work,
    Miss Dube
